The Lakeside City Council is comprised of a Mayor and six Council Members. The Mayor is elected to serve a two-year term, and Council Members are elected to serve four-year terms.
Pursuant to the Lakeside City Charter, the City Council serves as the policy-making body of the City and as the link between the residents of Lakeside and their municipal government. The Council is responsible for enacting and amending City ordinances and resolutions, adopting the City’s budget, appointing citizen boards, committees, and commissions, and providing guidance and direction on matters that affect the quality of life in Lakeside.
City Council Meetings
Lakeside City Council meetings are a valuable source of information about what is happening in the community. Residents are encouraged to attend, share their comments and concerns, and observe the Council at work as they strive to make Lakeside a better place to live, work, and play.
Regular City Council meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. Beginning in 2026, the City Council will also hold a regular monthly Work Session on the fourth Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m. Additional Work Sessions may be scheduled as needed.

Mayor Nikki Wood was elected in 2024.

Tom Miller was re-elected to the Council in 2024 and currently serves as the Council President.

Nichole (Nikki) Harden was elected in 2024.
Teri Macduff was appointed to City Council in 2025.
Elaine Armstrong was elected to City Council in 2024.
Rob Ward was elected to City Council in 2024.
Alan Pointer was elected to the Council in 2022. Alan was raised in Reedsport where he spent 36 years before marrying his wife Sheila and moving to Salem. After many years spent in the Willamette Valley, Alan and Sheila moved back to the coast.
