City of Lakeside Announces New Data Security Measures
Following Disclosure Incident
Lakeside, OR– August12, 2024 – The City of Lakeside is taking proactive steps to address and rectify a recent incident involving the inadvertent disclosure of sensitive information related to local businesses, including Dune Rider Cafe.
On August 10, 2024, it was discovered that sensitive information pertaining to Dune Rider Cafe was inadvertently disclosed. We deeply regret this oversight and understand the importance of safeguarding private data. The City of Lakeside is committed to addressing this issue with transparency and urgency.
To prevent any future occurrences, the City is instituting a new policy that will require the redaction of sensitive information in the presence of OLCC applicants. This measure is designed to ensure that all information is handled with the highest level of confidentiality and care.
In addition, the City of Lakeside is enhancing its data security protocols to further safeguard sensitive information. These steps include a comprehensive review and update of current data protection measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
As a gesture of goodwill and to assist in mitigating any potential impact, the City is offering complimentary credit monitoring services for one year to the affected parties. We hope this measure provides added reassurance and support.
